April Fool’s Day Prank Meals

Are you the prankster in your family or are you the one always caught in a prank during April Fool’s Day?

I was always the one to realize it was April Fools’ day after my hubs and my boys played a prank on me.

No more….I decided to get a head start on pranks this April Fool’s Day? It was time for this mom to reclaim her territory.

Fake Hot Dogs & Fries - April Fool's Day Prank Meal

I started the day with some fake out breakfast. I surprised my family with April Fool’s Day sunny-side up eggs, toast and ketchup (for those who need ketchup with their eggs).

My  family was a bit suspicious since they didn’t smell any eggs frying yet there were eggs on their plates…..they saw eggs and they got excited……GOTCHA….my first April Fool’s Day prank meal was a success.

After the initial shock and lots laugh my kids loved the Vanilla Yogurt with Apricot half pretending to be fried egg and couple slices of Pound Cake masquerading as a toast. The role of ketchup was be played by none other then Strawberry Jam.

Sometimes pound cake for breakfast in exchange of eggs is acceptable on a count of reclaiming mom’s territory and playing a prank on her family……PRICELESS.

If you want to prank your family with this April Fool’s day Prank Breakfast you need to make sure you have all the necessary supplies.

To create this awesome Prank Breakfast you will need:

  • 1 Pound Cake
  • Butter
  • Thick Mediterranean Yogurt
  • Canned Apricots
  • Strawberry Jam

Just cut the pound cake into slices and toast it in a toaster as you would regular bread. Butter it.

Drain the apricots really well.

On a plate place some Vanilla yogurt and make it look like a bottom of a fried egg. Place half apricot on top.

Serve it with side dish of strawberry jam.

My April Fool’s Day prank meals didn’t stop at breakfast…..I am not an amateur….I was not done with them.

I decided to punk them again and turn our dinner dessert into hot dogs and fries.

Talk about confusion….second dinner?….why?…..we already ate?

At the end who can say no to Twinkies stuffed with Tootsie rolls and topped with red wires?  How about side order of pound cake sticks pretending to be fries to go with your prank hot dogs?
Another point for mom. In case you are keeping a score….MOM :2…..FAMILY:0

For fake Hot Dogs & Fries prank meal you will need:

  • Twinkies
  • Giant Tootsie Roll
  • Red Wires or Twizzlers
  • Pound Cake
  • Sugar
  • Strawberry Jam

Cut up the pound cake into strips that look like fries. Place then onto cookie sheet and broil them in the oven on all side till they have color of french fries. Sprinkle them with sugar.

Make a slit in Twinkies. Place a piece of Tootsie roll inside and top it with red wire.

Serve it with pound cake fries and side of Strawberry jam.

I made these this morning for my god daughter and my fionce, who acts like a little kid most of the time. Zack couldn’t stop laughing when he realized what he was eating, and Jazzy simply loved it. I have a strong feeling that this will be a new weekend tradition when she comes to stay with us.
