Spring has sprung and Easter is just around the corner.
I love decorating for Spring and Easter. There is such a difference between decorating for Winter and Christmas then decorating for Spring and Easter.
Spring and Easter decorations are full of fresh pastel colors. They are like a breath of fresh air mixed with sunshine after long and cold winter. Decorating for Spring gives you this burst of energy and makes your house come alive.
There are so many ways to decorate for Spring and Easter. I love the fact that spring is the time of the year you can incorporate beautiful spring flowers, fresh grass and blooming tree branches into your decorations.
Every spring I love to decorate my house with Cherry Blossoms from my neighbor’s cherry orchard.

Every March when I see my neighbor pruning his cherry orchard I run out and collect the cherry branches.
I collect the branches with the green buds just starting to come out. It takes few days inside the warm house and a vase full of water and the whole house starts looking like a cherry orchard in bloom.
Most of the time I decorate my blooming cherry tree with decorated Easter eggs, but this spring I decided to decorate my blooming tree with homemade Easter sugar cookies.
You can make this beautiful decoration as a part of your decorating for Spring and Easter this year as well. It’s easy. It’s fun. You can involve your children. It looks beautiful especially when all the buds are in full bloom.
Supplies:
- Fruit Tree Cuttings with Starting Buds
- 12 Easter Decorated Cookies
- Pastel Colored Thin Ribbons
STEP 1: Make your favorite sugar cookie recipe. Cut out 12 cookies for decorating your branches. Using a regular drinking straw make a hole in the cookies before baking.
STEP 2: After your cookies are baked and decorated string ribbons through the holes. Tie with a bow and hang on the branches you arranged in a tall vase with fresh water.
STEP 3: In few days the buds will open up and the branches will be in a full bloom and later covered in beautiful green leaves.
You can keep this beautiful spring arrangement around for over a month.
