Kids Educational Websites

Kids Educational Websites
Like it or not we are living in a world of fast moving technology. What was new and cool yesterday is old news today.Majority of households have at least one computer and children as young as 3 are visiting kids websites to play kids online games.

If you have children then you probably go through the same everyday struggle like me. How much time they spend or should spend on the internet and what kids websites they visit.

I monitor my boys internet activities very closely. My dilemma was how much time they should spend playing kids online games and how much time they should spend visiting kids educational websites and learn.

The best scenario was to combine both of the activities and find kids websites that offer kids online games and are education websites as well.

My boys and my nephews are very math and science oriented. Their favorite shows are the Myth Busters, Discovery Kids and CSI.  They can watch the Discovery Channel all day long.

I decided to do some research (with the help of my panel of experts) in order to find exciting and kids educational websites.Kids websites that offer kids online games, learning activities and are fun.

I was pleasantly surprised. I discovered so many kids educational websites that are great for all different ages and interests.

My boys and my nephews (my panel of experts) age ranges from 6-13 and these are the top kids websites that peeked their interest:

The most popular kids websites (no surprise to me) were kids science websites. According to my panel of experts the best  science websites for kids are:

Extreme Science. This is an amazing educational website for older kids.
After spending an hour browsing this science website my 13 year old was hooked.

Another kids website that deals with science was Science Explorer.

Science Explorer is fun and educational kids website full of experiments your kids can try at home (make sure they have appropriate supervision).

Science Monster was a third educational website where your budding scientists will learn the mystery of science.

My younger son fell in love with Nasa Kid’s Club. He enjoys playing fun games like the Buzz Lightyear space game.

When my boys are not fighting like most brothers they love to explore cool kids website called Sea and Sky.

In our search we also came across some really cool math kids websites.

If your kids like brainteasers and math games then you must check out kids websites like Prongo and FunBrain. Both of these educational websites are full of fun math games and brain teasers.

Prongo is a great learning website for kids as young as 3 years of age.

My 6 year old nephew loves to explore kids website with one of his favorite TV characters  Arthur.

He also loves stories on Berenstain Bears website. Hanging with Sister and Brother Bear is always so much fun.

One of the cool kids websites we came across was Funology. This is a great website full of fun games, magic tricks, experiments and craft ideas.

Another fantastic kids websites from preschoolers to grade 1 kids is Seussville University. This is an interactive kids website that teaches children basic reading, science, math and reasoning skills.

I am pretty sure that this is just a small list of really cool, educational and safe kids websites. I had lots of one exploring them with my crew. I hope you will go check them out and have as much fun exploring all these kids websites as much as we had.

The most important part is to have fun while helping your kids to discover all of these fun and educational kids websites. I bet, you will learn lots of new stuff as well. I know I did.

Yes, that’s the age they all start getting into it, but luckily these days there is so many free and safe kids websites they can explore. I wish they were there when my teen was a toddler.

  9. Math Kids says:

Great post! Thanks for the information on educational websites. Math kids and science kids are not exactly the norm, but it is good to know that there are resources and websites geared towards children who have an aptitude and passion for these subjects whereby they can continually develop their natural abilities.
