Family Friendly Las Vegas Pools

There is lots of controversy about Las Vegas as a family vacation spot.
Personally, I think Las Vegas is a perfect family vacation spot if you wanted to be and if you follow certain unwritten rules.
We try to visit Las Vegas every September as a part of our family vacation. One of the reasons we love Vegas is because of their awesome pools.
In September the weather is getting cooler, but still warm enough to enjoy the family friendly Las Vegas pools.
Almost every hotel in Las Vegas has a pool and many of them are beautiful oasis in a desert. However not many Las Vegas pools or hotels are very family friendly or affordable.
My family loves to live the good life on a budget. Las Vegas is one of few places in North America where an average family can enjoy first class accommodation, service, wide variety of free and affordable family attractions and of course the best Las Vegas pools.
There are 5 family friendly hotels with kids friendly pools we enjoy when vacationing in Las Vegas with style.
Top 5 Family Friendly Las Vegas Pools (according to Daily Organized Chaos):
#1. The MGM Grand hotel’s almost 7 acre pool complex is in my opinion one of the best among Las Vegas pools. It reminds me of an exotic paradise with lots of lush greenery, fountains, waterfalls and bridges.
The MGM Grand pool complex offers:
- 5 Pools
- 3 Whirlpools
- 8,000 foot-long Lazy River with an Island, Lagoon (can serve as kiddie pool) and a Waterfalls
- Cabana Rental
- Raft and Tube Rental ($19 per day)
- Restaurant & Snack Bar
TIP: If you are spending more then 1 day at the pool you can purchase tube in a pool kiosk right when you enter for $15.00 and they will blow it up for you for free. You are allowed to bring your own life jackets and floaties for babies and toddlers.
# 2. The Monte Carlo hotel’s pool complex is not one of the biggest Las Vegas pools, but we enjoyed it regardless of it’s size.
The Monte Carlo pool complex offers:
- Enclosed and private kiddie pool complete with kids size beach chairs
- Wave pool with 3ft waves designed to simulate the ocean
- Lagoon pool – relaxing square pool with a waterfall
- 400 foot-long Easy River Ride
- Jacuzzi
- Tube rental (you can purchase cheaper one at the Beach Shop and re-use it)
- Cabana Rental
- Snack Bar
- Beach Shop
#3. The Mandalay Bay hotel’s pool complex is another choice from the best family friendly Las Vegas pools. The Mandalay Bay pool is not an ordinary Las Vegas pool. It is 11 acres of total pool experience.
The Mandalay Bay pool complex offers:
- Real Sand Beach
- 3 Swimming Pools
- Wave Pool
- Lazy River
- 3 Whirlpools
- Cabana Rentals
- Jogging Track
- Restaurant
- Snack bars
- Beachside Casino
- Beach Concerts (May through September)
#4. The Mirage hotel’s pool is one large pool interconnected with lagoons with cascading waterfalls and bridges in a middle of a tropical garden (hey used to have a waterslide called the Hurricane , but to a big disappointment of my children they closed it down).
Just across the bridge from the pool is Siegried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat – a must see family attraction.
The Mirage pool complex offers:
- 4′ Deep Large Pool with Lagoons
- Raft Rental
- Complimentary Life Jackets for Children
- 2 Whirlpools
- Cabana Rental
- Pool Shop
- Snack Bar
- Restaurant
#5. The Luxor hotel’s pool complex is the last of family friendly Las Vegas pools on my list. The pool complex spreads on 5 acres with minimal shade and it’s located by the bottom of the Luxor pyramid.
The Luxor pool complex offers:
- 4 Pools
- 4 Whirlpools
- Raft and Pool Toy Rental
- Cabana Rental
- Snack Bar
- Pool Shop

It’s nice to hear that there are family-friendly options available in Las Vegas and that it can be a budget-friendly destination as well. I’m looking forward to visiting one day!

Vegas has so much to offer to families with children. Over the years it changed a lot, but still lots of fun to be had in Vegas without drinking and gambling.
I haven’t been to Las Vegas in years and I only went once. I had no idea there were so many Lazy Rivers!! My husband and I LOVE Lazy Rivers!!! What a great post. I’ve got to bookmark this one.
Thanks

Lazy rivers are the best. So relaxing for adults and so much fun for kids. My kids can go around and around for hours.
I had a friend take her family to Las Vegas for Spring Break, and I thought it was an odd destination choice, but you’ve proved me wrong! What fun to see life beyond the gaming tables!

Even though I live here, I rarely have time to get out to any of the casino pools. This is good information for advising family members who are coming into town with their kids, what hotel might be the best choice.

Just got back from Vegas. “Family Friendly”. Not by any stretch of the imagination but people will justify satisfying their own needs at the expense of their children any way they can. I can name dozens of pools that are better than any of these that don’t require going to Las Vegas. It is a terrible place for kids. Almost all of the entertainment is geared towards adults and many of the adults don’t appreciate the presence of children. I was dragged there by my parents when I was child and other than Circus Circus, there was very little for us to do. If you have children with you you can’t gamble or see probably 99 percent of the shows in Vegas so why go. Unless you are leaving your children alone or in the care of others which goes back to my original point.
Believe it or not some parents don’t gamble, party or drink and they love spending time with their kids. These parents enjoy the nice pools, family restaurants and family friendly activities which Vegas offers DURING THE DAY. They go to Vegas because it is reasonable and affordable family vacation. Most people on family vacation are in their rooms or vicinity of their hotel at decent hour if it’s Vegas or Disneyland. Vegas also offers numerous family shows that are during the day and early evening.
Can you tell me who has a kiddie pool good for a 4 year old to play in?
Great site:)
There is a separate fenced kiddie pool at Monte Carlo complete with little kids pool furniture. It’s away from the main pool and offers shade as well. If I remember correctly it is as a little oasis in the pool complex. Also their lazy river is great and not very big and deep. MGM Grand has a little bay pool as a part of their lazy river which is great for small ones, but it’s not separate and it lead directly to deep end.
