February is just around the corner, but I am getting that loving feeling of Valentine.
I’ve been officially bitten by the love bug that is Valentine. I look forward February not only because it’s closer to spring. Mostly because it’s VALENTINES Day.
February is LOVE MONTH in my house.
Last night I was making a batch of my Black Forest Brownies when the little cupid hit me. I decided to turn ordinary brownies into Valentine Heart Shaped Brownies.
I know I’ll be making more of these Valentine brownies in next few weeks, but I wanted to inspire you and wake up the Valentine inside you.
So many people are being down in a funk lately including myself. What is the best medicine for funk?
Chocolate…..especially when it is in a form of a heart shaped brownie.
So turn up your ovens, wake up your inner Valentine and get baking some brownies.
Follow 7 easy steps to make Valentine Heart Shaped Brownies:
- Bake a batch of brownies using your favorite recipe (or boxed). Make sure your brownie mix is for 9″ x13″ pan (family size).
- Let the brownies cool down just a little bit.
- Using heart shaped cookie cutter cut out heart shaped brownies and place them individually on a cooling rack.
- Make a simple chocolate glaze (equal part of chocolate to equal part of shortening – melt in double boiler). You can use your own recipe as well.
- Glaze the tops of the brownies with the chocolate glaze using a spoon or dip the tops.
- Place them back on cooling racks and decorate with Valentine colored sugar, miniature Valentine candy hearts or conversational hearts.
- Let it sit for couple hours until the chocolate hardens.

There you have it. Spread early Valentines love with delicious and chocolaty Valentine Heart Shaped Brownies.
If you don’t have heart shaped cookie cutter just cut your brownies into little squares or diamonds.

Really, who doesn’t love sprinkles. They will brighten any day and Valentine goes hand in hand with sprinkles, lol.
Mmmm…I love your valentine’s inspired brownies! Sprinkles always tickle my fancy and conversation hearts make me smile!
I love conversation hearts. We didn’t have them growing up in Europe so when we came to Canada I thought they were so cool. Have you noticed how some conversational hearts go with the times? Last year I found a heart with Text Me.
Good morning. This is a cool idea. I have a daycare and I know they’d love something like this for a treat. Thanks for the idea. I am following you cuz, well you have so many cool idea and thoughts to read and share.

These brownies are super easy to make and so much fun to decorate. You can make them for every occasion and whatever shape cookie cutters you have on hand. Top glaze can be chocolate, white chocolate, caramel even store bought icing would look great decorated.
Nothing like a chocolate brownie to cheer me up too, especially heart shaped!
Yes, there is nothing better then chocolate brownie to get people out of funk….I totally agree.
